About Jake
A lot of people spend decades doing the right things financially. They save consistently, invest carefully, build careers, raise families, and prepare for the future. Then retirement gets close, and the question changes. It is no longer just, “How do I keep growing my money?” It becomes, “How do I live from what I’ve built without putting it at unnecessary risk?”
That transition is where Jacob Schaefer focuses his work. He helps clients prepare for the realities of retirement by bringing structure to their portfolios, discipline to their decisions, and perspective during uncertain markets. His belief is simple: retirement strategies should be built for real markets, not perfect plans. When volatility arrives, clients should not be left wondering what to do next. They should understand why their strategy was prepared the way it was.
Jacob has always been drawn to problem solving, preparation, and understanding people. Before entering financial advice, he considered careers in medicine and law because he was attracted to complex cases, careful thinking, and helping people navigate high-stakes decisions. Financial planning gave him a place to combine those interests with his passion for markets, human behavior, and long-term decision-making.
Outside the office, Jacob’s life is centered around his wife, Rachel, their daughter, Juliana and Australian Shepherd, Coach. He enjoys cooking, golf, pickleball, Ohio State football, church, learning, taking care of his yard, and the craftsmanship and tradition behind a good bourbon. That personal perspective shapes how he thinks about retirement: money is not the end goal. The goal is helping people enjoy the life they worked hard to build, spend time with the people they love, and move forward with confidence in whatever comes next.
