“I thrive on the relationship building process with all my clients.”
Scott’s experience ranges over 35-years in the financial services industry. Since 1983, as a financial advisor, his experience has been in the design, and investment education of Qualified Retirement Plans for businesses and individuals. Scott especially enjoys the creative work of planning out goals and strategies with individuals and businesses. He feels, if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.
“I have experienced and been exposed to many facets of business over my 34 years in this industry. The value I add can never be measured by an index.”
A 1983 graduate of Samford University with a BA in Finance, Scott entered into the financial services industry right out of college. This year, Scott is celebrating his 28th year as a CFP®. After opening his own firm in 1994, Scott is the General Securities Principal and Municipal Securities Principal of his firm. In 2013 he completed his AIF® Accredited Investment Fiduciary Certification. Scott also serves as the branch manager and Regional Director of his organization, with financial advisors around the country who affiliate with Commonwealth Capital Management, LLC.
“Working in a compliance capacity as branch manager has benefited my clients, since I am looking at their situation through the eyes of needs vs. that of a salesman.”
Scott is getting use to the quieter life of being a recent empty nester after raising three boys with his wife Chrissie of 33 years. Living in the country, gives him the solitude he enjoys after the responsibilities of running his firm.
“There is nothing more relaxing as watching the sunset, while the deer and geese go by.”
With Chrissie, recently retired, they enjoy additional time to travel together, combined with a continued interest in healthy cooking and gardening on their five acres. Scott has taken up a new interest in beekeeping as well.
