Joe Clay

Born and raised in the Louisville area, Joe loves calling Kentucky home.  As a four-year Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Joe completed an 8-month tour of duty in Fallujah, Iraq. He credits this time for teaching him the true meaning of discipline and hard work. His time spent serving this country also helped him to dial in on future goals. Following his release from the USMC, Joe began his career in Finance at JP Morgan Chase. During this time, he simultaneously completed a BA in Business Administration at Indiana Wesleyan University.
 
Joe chose to further his career at TIAA/CREF, leveraging the resources of the institutional investment firm to focus on a client base derived from the educational sector. After several years of growing his expertise, Joe then moved on to expand his client base as a Financial Advisor with PNC Bank. Joe’s desire to always put his client’s retirement needs first is what has led him to ultimately leave the corporate banking environment and join the Commonwealth Capital Management family.
 
Outside of the office Joe loves spending time with his wife of 16 years and 9-year-old son. When not bouncing between football, basketball, baseball, and jiu jitsu the family loves being outdoors. They enjoy swimming, camping, off-roading with their Jeep club, and cruising around to car shows in their 1972 Nova. Joe’s diverse love of cars has been passed on to his son and their mantra is ‘a dirty Ferrari is as tragic as a clean Jeep.’
